Visiting Vermont

Experience the best of the Vermont travel landscape during your next visit. Plan a trek through the Green Mountain State for the winter and check out an array of impressive attractions, tour charming cities and towns, and try your best to experience the season’s best festivals and events.

In South Burlington, you’ll be situated right along Lake Champlain, which will yield some excellent fishing opportunities during the fall and winter. You’ll also have quick and easy access into the city of Burlington – embark on a campus tour at the University of Vermont, ideal for those traveling with high school-aged kids, and on October 21st don’t miss the annual Vermont International Film Festival. Visit the Main Street Landing Film House for screenings, events, contests, and more – this is one of Vermont’s most anticipated fall events.

Burlington will be hosting a very special event on November 25th – don’t miss out! Head for the Burlington Unitarian Church at 8:30 p.m. to see Andrew W.K. live on stage, with a slight twist. Though mostly known for his rock music, Andrew W.K. is also a motivational speaker and lecturer, and will be in Burlington as part of his “Power of Partying” lecture series.

Just to the east of South Burlington you’ll discover the town of Waterbury. Yielding some of the most exceptional views of Vermont’s fall foliage, Waterbury Center State Park is a must-visit. Throw on a scarf and enjoy an evening stroll through the Waterbury Village Historic District. The WVHD hosts their annual River of Lights Parade & Bonfire this year on December 3rd starting at 5 p.m.

Waterbury will yield a short and scenic drive into nearby Montpelier. Vermont’s capital city, Montpelier is home to the Vermont State House, Vermont History Museum, and the very impressive Hubbard Park & Tower – make a day of it and check out all three during a day-trip into Montpelier.

Plan your stay in Rutland for December 18th and make your way to the Paramount Theatre. Starting at 6 p.m. you’ll have a chance to see one of the true ballet classics: The Nutcracker. The Albany Berkshire Ballet will perform this iconic and holiday-themed stage production.
