State Parks Across Vermont
From Waterbury to Bennington
Vermont State Parks
Across the vast and diverse landscape of outdoor Vermont, discover any and all of the exceptional state parks.
Found all across the state, these Vermont state parks yield tremendous views of rolling green pastures, wooded forest areas, and pristine lakes for boating and fishing. Explore nearby cities like Bennington, Waterbury, and Rutland.
Most of the state parks across Vermont open to the public on Memorial Day and stay open through Columbus Day, making these destinations ideal for summer trips to Vermont.
When you visit Ludlow, be sure to check out top outdoor areas like Camp Plymouth State Park, or Coolidge State Park, both just minutes north of downtown Ludlow. Almost directly east of Ludlow is Wilgus State Park – enjoy pleasant and challenging hiking trails, picnic areas, and, quite often, excellent fishing at nearby lakes.
In Waterbury, you'll want to visit the Waterbury Center State Park and the Little River State Park, two top state parks in the area. Waterbury Center State Park is nearly 90 acres of trails, bird watching chances, and charming scenery.
If your Vermont travel plans have you exploring the southern region of the state, be sure to visit Fort Dummer State Park and Townshend State Park, both east of Bennington. Fort Dummer State Park is 217 acres in size, and yields some of the best wildlife viewing in the state.
Townshend State Park is home to the Bald Mountain Trail, an exemplary hiking and biking trail among all of the Vermont state parks.
No matter where you visit in Vermont, or which of the state parks you explore, plan you trip soon and experience the best of outdoor Vermont.
