Thetford Hill State Park
Located just east of Rutland, Thetford Hill is set among the southern tract of a Vermont state forest, offering a variety of outdoor recreation to all comers. The park was constructed in 1931 by the Civilian Conversation Corps, and houses many pastures and farmlands within the woodlands.
Visitors are encouraged to explore the scenery via the five-kilometer Woods Hill Trail, crisscrossing the parkland, ideal for hiking and cross-country running. The park has been known to host New England running championships, as well as cross-country skiing and snowshoeing events. The park also houses a picnic area available in the summer.
