Smugglers' Notch State Park
Located just north of Waterbury, Smugglers’ Notch State Park treats visitors to a great deal of history set among the Green Mountains in northern Vermont. Given its namesake, the park was originally a pass through the Green Mountains for Vermont settlers to trade with Montreal.
The park is riddled with natural beauty, too. The path is set between hanging, 1,000-foot cliffs and is ideal for hiking, picnicking, and wildlife viewing.
